I highly recommend party planner Laura Martin! Generally, I do all my own preparation, cooking and serving, but just a few days before my sister’s birthday party – with 20 coming for dinner – I was too ill to manage. With only four days ’til the party, I called Laura with my “entertainment emergency.” She assured me she would do all my shopping, help me plan the meal, make things work smoothly, and clean up afterward. She did all that and more. What a tremendous relief.
I had planned to use lots of balloons, so Laura built on that theme. She created cardstock balloons of various colors and placed several at each table. Inside each, using wonderful fonts on her computer, she placed a quotation appropriate to a birthday. These sparked conversation among guests whose only connection was the guest of honor. The balloons were tied with curly-tie ribbons and carried out the look of balloons everywhere. Laura also provided hand-stamped, hand-painted birthday-themed name tags for everyone. It was very helpful inasmuch as most people only knew three or four people when they arrived.
Laura had a dessert suggestion that topped off the evening with fun - an Ice Cream Sundae Bar! Guests were invited to build their own ice cream sundaes. We offered three flavors of ice cream and lots of toppings, nuts and whipped cream, resulting in plenty of fun for all. Some came back for seconds just to try another combination of flavors or build a fancier dessert tower. This creative idea was lots more fun than cake-and-ice-cream.
I know Laura Martin has many clever ideas still to be seen and I can hardly wait for the next time we get our heads together and do some party planning. I will never feel that I have to do it all myself when someone so capable, friendly and reassuring is available! Besides that, her prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend you talk with Laura for your next event. I think you’ll find her as charming and winsome as I do.

Dear Laura,
I can't believe how beautiful the "fairy-in-training"
baby cake you made for my First granddaughter turned out. I have never
seen anything so absolutely adorable in my life; neither had the OB
nurses in the delivery ward. They all said that they had seen a lot of
diaper cakes but they had never seen one as elaborate and of such
exceptionally high quality. When we brought the cake in to the labor
and delivery room, the Mother-to-be was elated. She thought it was so
beautiful... it actually took her mind of of her labor pains for
awhile! It made the day! (Well, the cake and the baby being born!) Please make me another baby cake!!! My second granddaughter is due
in August. I can hardly wait to see the next one. You have a true
talent and I can tell you make them with special care and love!
